Series 8 of record group 72-97 consists of bookkeeping records of the Michigan Department of Conservation, Fish Division for the years 1914-1940. Includes ledgers (1921-40) of expenses of various nursery, feeding and field stations. Payroll records offer date, name of employee, number of days worked and amounts. Also includes detailed expense for travel, general supplies, utilities, vehicle maintenance, and register of work orders. Also includes an account book for the fish rail car, the "Wolverine" (Mar. 18, 1914-May 31, 1923), offering date, form of transportation, initials of railroad line, termini, number of miles, number of men, number of car trip, cost of transportation, and other such information.
